Wow! Time flies!

So!  It's all ready here!  It's been almost a month and we are having our next Tiny Thing gathering this Thursday, Oct 17. at the church.   Everything will be the same as before, we will be there at 9:30am and have some breakfast-type snacks.  No formal plan, just a time to come and let the kids play and the moms talk!

Join us if you can!

Keep Jessica Johnson on your prayer list, please.  She had surgery today and according to her husband, all went well!  She will have a nice, calm month of recovery....with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old....... Yeah, right, calm....

Like I said, please keep her in your prayers and we will try to keep you posted of how we can help her.

As a side note, Heather, Tyson's mom, has some boy's clothes that she is wanting to sell/give away.  It's one of those things that Tyson, like all babies, has outgrown his clothes.  They could use a little money for them, if anyone is interested.  And if money is an issue for you, too, and you need boy clothes, she has them.  Talk with her soon!

If you have items to share/sell, let us know.  We all have stuff and we all need stuff.  It's just getting the right people connected!

Thanks, Moms!

Lots of thanks to the moms who brought their babies and joined us last week for our very first "Tiny Thing" event in the nursery.  It was so nice to just have a few minutes to actually talk with our moms.  After service on Sundays is just not a good time to get to chat; with lunch and naps due so soon after church is over.  So it was a real treat for us, as nursery staff and volunteers, to get to talk a little while.

We will try to schedule a "Tiny Thing" event once a month, with the next date being planned for
Oct. 17.  The confirmed date will be included in the October edition of the Nursery News which will be in the nursery for all the parents to pick up.  If you have "news" you would like to share with our nursery family, see Classic Brumley.  She is the "editor" of the news and would love to share your birthday news, fun mom tip, baby accomplishment, and even items for sale.  Just let her know!

Speaking of Classic, I (Barbara) want to say thanks, again, to her for all her efforts to make the Tiny Thing event come to be.  She provided the food and all the planning.  I got to just show up, make the coffee (of course) and then hold some babies.  Thanks, Classic!

We are praying for all of our nursery families.  We hope you have a fantastic week and we look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Mommy's Meet Up!

One of our goals for our Momentum Nursery for the fall is to let the mommies and staff have the opportunities to get to know each other.  And the first chance to do just that is coming up, Thursday, September 12, at 9:30am at the church.  We know that Sundays are so busy, with so much to do, it's hard to talk and get to know each other better then.  (And Pastor Ross would probably frown on trying to chat a lot during his sermon... haha) So, the best time to get to know other families with little ones will need to be some day other than Sunday.

This will be a time with no program, no agenda, just some snacks and time for the little ones to play and the moms (or dads or grandmothers or whoever wants to attend) to talk.  Classic Brumley is the point person for this gathering as well as the creator of the new Nursery News monthly newsletter that was started this month.  If you have things to share, stories, prayers, items for sale, etc, we would love for you to share those things with the rest of us.  There are some forms in the nursery where you can write your "news" or you can email it to Barbara@momentumchurch.com and I will forward it to Classic.

We're looking forward to seeing you at next Thursday!

Fall 2013

I am so excited for our nursery ministry for this fall.  While we have had good Sunday ministry in our nursery, it's clean, it's safe, etc, I have wished that the ministry to our families with babies outside of Sunday could be developed.  It has been on my heart to be able to do more to connect the moms during the week.  And it's been on my heart to connect the volunteers together, as well.  Life just hasn't been calm enough in the last year to see that accomplished.

But now, we are finally getting to take steps in that direction.  Classic Brumley is helping to develop a newsletter that will share news, prayer requests, stories, etc.  between our families.   She will help us set up some "Mom-Connect" days, playdates for young families and more.

And our nursery volunteers are committed to providing consistency in the room so that the babies feel safe with someone they know.   You will regularly see some of the same faces each week in early service, and others consistently in second service.

All in all, it's a great time to be a baby at Momentum!  Which is a good thing because we have lots of them!! And more on the way.  Keep an eye here, ongoing, for updates, articles, and other helpful posts.
